It’s time indian government goes to Italy and understand how Rome is designed, how they have preserved the thousand years old monuments, there are hundreds of historical sites which are maintained so well. We may need to do the same in case of all our religious places all across india. The beauty of these small towns lies in their small lanes, small but very ancient temples, small shops which employs thousands of people, a lifestyle which is very unique to that place.
It’s time we look into development of religious small towns in different style, format, approach and execution. Currently what is going on Kashi is extremely painful.
Development doesn’t mean the concrete buildings, concrete roads and facilities which we don’t need most of the time.
Unfortunately power of consumerism is so strong in today’s economy that we want to beautify everything for no reason.
The current development principles are two edged sword. We loose our identity on the name of development and subscribing to the American way of lifestyle.
It’s also time to think of eco friendly villages and towns which work on our traditional principles of saving the environment. This will save hundreds of species, animals, environment and health of the people.
