My last take on this US visit:
The country is truly great when it comes to giving business opportunities, innovations, technology, lifestyle luxuries and professionalism in work places. As a young teen even I had an American dream as that is what We grew up thinking that US is the land of opportunities and new innovations will save the humanity.
My this visit was all about judging and evaluating on how much they have contributed to humanity, environment, cultural values and health of the people. I am sorry to share that it’s a failed society. I met so many indian families living there who have no interest in inculcating our culture to their kids. For them it’s all about jobs, houses, cars, luxuries, holidays, security of their future. There is no space for cultural values, our identity, religion or human touch. And no Indian holidays too. Though also found young NRIs who are born in US but working to spread the dharma. Still Indians are the second richest race here, of course through hard work and values we have in work places. But they have failed to pass on the same to their kids as they are fully American and lost.
I also found that they overlive- which means exploiting natural resources like anything. Every household has things which next three generations can use but they still want to buy more. As lifestyle and happiness is all about shopping and shopping.
I always loved NewYork and still love it for the buzz it has but the Manhattan has become more about shopping and eating than anything else.
It is flooded with very mediocre Chinese products which no country is able to avoid. The elite ness and chivalry of people have disappeared which I had felt 15 yrs back. And which actually made America great in true sense. The Society is flooded with all sorts of piled-on refugees who want everything free from govt.
wonder how they will manage the country in future.
